Message out there mean I can just go out, buy an EPROM from radio shack, download JWT/Ash/Whoever's *base*, untuned Stage III file (which lots of people already hav), burn it to the EPROM and bam! I just saved myself $500?
Or that I could just start selling 'em really cheap? Of course, you'd need the right equipment, but it's apparently not too hard to come across or just go out and buy.
So isn't this why Ash and others feel threatened? Anybody can download the base file, burn it to an EPROM and they don't see a dime.
It's not so much the custom tuning aspect as it is the ability to sell upgraded ECUs for cheap.
